API's Photodiodes are semiconductors which generate a current or voltage when illuminated by light. They have no internal gain, but can operate with a significantly greater dynamic range than other types of photon detectors. In addition to a wide variety of standard detector configurations, API also welcomes the opportunity to design a custom solution to meet a customer's exact needs.
