TH3 molded solid tantalum chip capacitors are designed to provide high reliability with high-temperature capabilities of 150°C with 50% voltage derating.
The capacitors are optimized for a wide variety of high-temperature automotive uses, including under-hood and on-engine applications such as engine control, fuel injection systems, steer-by-wire, diesel ignition control, and transmission control; sensor applications such as tire pressure monitoring and temperature control; industrial applications related to the control of high-temperature materials; and oil exploration sensing systems.
These molded-case capacitors are available in five case codes, sizes A through E, per EIA-535BAAC. By providing higher temperature capabilities than the industry-standard 125°C, these capacitors give designers a less expensive option for high-temperature applications.
Part of Vishay's TANTAMOUNT® tantalum capacitor family, these devices have a capacitance range of 0.33 µF to 100 µF and a voltage range from 10 V to 50 V. The surface-mount TH3 capacitors are available in standard EIA tape-and-reel packages that are compatible with high-volume automatic pick-and-place equipment. RoHS-compliant tin or gold and Sn/Pb terminations are available.
