Stackpole’s ESD and ESDU series are high-speed and ultra high-speed transient suppression chips with protection levels of 8kV for direct contact and 15kV for air. The ESD and ESDU series are compliant with IEC61000-4-2. These series employ a unique air gap technology that achieves the lowest possible capacitance, thereby significantly reducing response time. The devices are ideal for the protection of high-speed data ports such as USB 2.0 and HDMI.
The ESD and ESDU series are available in 0402 and 0603 chip sizes and in operating voltages ranging from 3.3V to 24V. Trigger voltages are 150V and 250V, and clamping voltages are typically 17V and 25V. The ESD series has a typical capacitance of less than 0.2pF, while the ESDU series has typical capacitances of less than 0.05pF. Both products are designed to withstand in excess of 1000 pulses with outstanding reliability and repeatability.
